Born: January 1, 1518

Place: In the Highlands of Scotland, in the village of Glennfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel

First Death: 1536 (In the Battle of Frasers verses the Macleods, where he "dies" at the hand of the Kurgan)

First Love: Heather MacDonald

First Teacher: Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez (1541)

Between the years of 1570's and 1590's, Connor buries Heather and burns their home; he takes Ramirez's sword with him and moves to Edinburgh where he learns to read and write; he stays there around ten years; during the last six months of this time, he lives with a farmer and the man's young daughter until bandits try to rape the girl. Connor kills the bandits but not before taking a crossbow bolt in the chest in full view. Because he saved them from the bandits, the farmer helps Connor by sneaking him away from town and faking his burial. Connor leaves for London.

In England he meets the Immortal Thomas Cavanaugh, who introduces him to many other Immortals. Cavanaugh also stresses that the Prize must not be won by an evil Immortal. Connor leaves England for France and is surprised when Cavanaugh decides to travel with him. Connor begins to court Isabelle Tourez, a cousin of the King, but barely a month into the relationship, Cavanaugh reminds Connor of Heather and convinces him to break off with her. Late at night after telling Isabelle he must leave, Connor and Cavanaugh are caught by the King's guards who arrest them after a short fight. the next morning, Cavanaugh is executed by beheading. Connor receives his friend's Quickening and then escapes while the guards are too stunned and scared to try and stop him. He leaves Europe for Asia.
