Born in 1867 on a share cropping plantaion, Jericho always had his own mind about certain things. Despite his up bringing he was very strong willed, not given to much disobedience. This was not helped by the fact that he grow to be a fine strapping young man who in times of need could pull the plow with out the horse.

He struggled to follow his father and mother’s teachings, but that all came to a screeching halt the night the "White Riders" came. They burned a cross in their yard and when his father tried to retaliate. They shot him, but not before he was able to remove the hood of the leader, Capt. Steward. This infuriated Jericho, but his mother saw the actual implications of the scene that night. She told them all, he and his younger brother and sister, to get out, but by the time she was to get out, it was too late. They had begun to set fire to the house.

He ran, with the two of them as fast as he could. They travelled as far as Macon County before his brother and sister were shot. He struck back and was severely beaten, but instead of killing him outright, they hung him. After two days of hanging in the tree, the branch began to give way and broke. An hour after night fall, Jericho had awakened gasping for air. Realizing that he was still alive, yet not understanding why, the only thing running through his mind was hate and vengeance and he set about to extract both.

Travelling back the way he had come, stopping only to bury his brother and sister properly. He set out to find out all that he could about the "White Riders", until finally he stalked Capt. Steward to his own house. As he was hiding his white hood and sheet, Jericho pounced on him. With the bullwhip that had been used on his father in his youth, he set about to strangle the man. The captain, being no match alone for the strength of the younger man, was gasping within a few minutes. Jericho's bane, Capt. Jedadiah Steward, lay dead at his feet, but his fury would not settle for that in his seemingly righteous anger.

He chopped the man up and hid the body scattering the parts in various places on his way down towards the river. After washing himself, and crying, he had finally come to his senses. Although his family were dead, he was free, finally and truly free. He gathered what little he had and ran. As he ran, he stole and grabbed what he could. He hired himself out as a deck hand on a ship bound for Europe.

In 1890, Jericho had finally come to grips with his new life. He had run into another Immortal, Sunda Kastigir -- an Egyptian, that was kind enough to teach him. Sunda taught him to read, write, how to use a scimitar, a couple of martial arts. The 4 years with Sunda was a completely new experience. He was practically given a new lease on life.

Sunda stopped off in Japan, to meet with an old friend of his. While there he was treated well, not as a simple slave but a role he was used to. Sunda left him there in the dead of night. "It was not good for them to travel together for too long," he told Jericho. It would make Jericho too vulnerable too dependent so Jericho decided to stay.

After they parted life for Jericho changed dramatically. He was not trusted and treated as an outcast for many months. Finally an old man looked kindly on the cocojin and offered him a place as his servant. Jericho accepted this offer since it was better than being homeless and less than well fed. The old man was a beggar having only one leg. But his role as a beggar was a pretense as he was a former samurai for the Emperor. His change in status, had brought him to think of himself as lowly until he had come upon Jericho and decided to return home.

Jericho carried the man on his back. The man was more than surprised at this gesture, but it was except by the townspeople. Hiyro was willing, despite the traditions, to teach him the way of the warrior and that of the assassin. Jericho spent 10 years in servitude before Hiyro died. Hiyro taught him all of the secrets of dark magic before he died. This made Jericho "a powerful warrior; all he needed now was the heart to live." Those were Hiyro’s last words to him.

In 1904, Jericho traveled the world after leaving Japan and ended up in Europe. He was searching for some semblance of happiness, yet finding none. Learning to live with taking a life over giving his own, he lived without love -- without true affection. This was mostly because of his intolerance for women outside of his own race, brought about by his distraught childhood. Being made to feel inferior by the world around him, he simply tried to live.

In 1924, Jericho found love in the arms of a Creole woman, Anita Ouchita. Against his better judgement they spent far too much time together, with her showing him the life, black magic and the beauty of France and him showing her the passion untouched in half a century. They truly loved one another for 12 years before the Game once again caught up to him. She was the victim, he was the victor. The other Immortal was killed in anger and Jericho kept his opponent's cane-sword and her diamond earrings to remind him of his love lost and that he could love at all.

In 1953, Jericho had run a foul of the KKK in Montgomery, Alabama. With segregation at it peak, he had run into Carl and Duncan MacLeod. Although they had parted on good terms, Jericho had a hard time believing that Duncan did not see race as an issue and tried to convince him everyone is a victim to love despite the color of skin. Carl and Duncan stayed; Jericho left but not before making a date in the future to further discuss the philosophy of women again with Duncan.

The year 1980 saw Jericho in Africa, working as a missionary. He had helped to open a few churches and had gained a wife, Nyra, who had been more beautiful than any woman he had seen in years. He had had to charm the birds down from the trees to win her heart. Since he had learned to play the flute, the melody called to her and they were happy -- truly happy -- for a few years. In 1988, a bout of malaria set into their small village after opening a new temple in a new village. No one survived. He stayed there. No one would set foot near the village of the dead for years. Jericho saw the turn of the century on holy ground, honoring his wife and finally deciding to get on with his life.

In 2012, starting to become more open minded, he set out to find his only friend in years, Sunda Kastigir. He got word of his last location and traveled to New York. Sunda had been dead for many years now, having been killed under strange circumstances. The manner of Sunda's death had been described by the police as him having his head removed. Having no other recourse. Jericho sought only to live out his existence, protecting the innocent when he could. Several Immortals later, he has an extensive collection of swords and is a financial backer for several technology firms.

In present day, Jericho has set out to find Duncan to perhaps talk, catch up on old times. Mostly though, just to find someone who can truly relate to his current situation.
