Name: Katya Jensenovec
Born: 22 BC -- Roman Empire
Died: 2 BC -- Roman Empire
Status: Immortal
Primary weapon: Medieval sword

Katya is approximately 5'5" with a decent figure. She's actually quite voluptuous for someone who died so young. Her dark hair has been styled in different ways over the years and even dyed it once or twice, although Katya prefers the look she has now. She has green eyes and pale skin. Some have described her as being eerie and macabre. Being called a freak is something she enjoys and even desires.
She has a peculiar sense of humor, cynical and sarcastic, and is short-tempered. Katya sees herself as tidy, but her place looks as if a hurricane went through it. She has a unusual passion for scented candles; they're all over her apartment. Her place is decorated in black leather and chrome with splashes of color and ethnic sculptures adding to the mystique that surrounds Katya's life.
Katya feels a strong bond to the Russian (and Slovenian) culture. Although she left the Soviet Union after W.W.II., it's the only constant in her life. Russian is the only language she speaks without an accent. In every other language she speaks (English, French, German, Hebrew, Latin and Chech), she has a Russian-Franco accent.
She was born in the Roman Empire. Katya's first death came when she drowned after falling from her horse on a bridge and hitting her head. Following her first death, she hid in the forest for 20 years. She was later found by a female Immortal who taught her about Immortality and the Game.
Katya was devastated when she learned she would never bear children. It was the beginnings of what would drive her insane. She lived in several villages as a peasant and was married once or twice, always regretting it because the death of her husbands left her heartbroken. She has since decided not to get involved with mortals but can't help falling in love.
In the year 296, she traveled to Bysantium and stayed there as it became Constantinople, the capital of the East Empire. She contemplated dying for several years, but even when she fought against Immortals who should have overpowered her, Katya won. In 905 she went to Russia and decided to stay there. It felt comfortable and she spent the majority of her Immortal life in Russia. She took on a Slovenian surname, which she still uses. In the 19th century, she went to Europe for short visits.
She met Methos in Russia in the early 1400s and Germany, in 1495, where they met an old shaman who prophesied the birth of Duncan MacLeod, the Solstice Child. After the 1950s, Katya lived in Europe and the U.S., working as a reporter. As time passed, however, she became cynical and hardened to the world around her. Still, she met frequently with Methos in late 20th century Paris. He, like Russia, became a constant in Katya's life. A life she found herself despising. Methos was the first to note the change in Katya's temperament. He introduced her to Duncan during one of her visits.
Her fighting skills are formidable, but it has been years since she's taken a head. Her move to New York surprised even Katya. During the last few years, she's become a predator, although she hasn't killed one in awhile. She also has a lookout, another Immortal, which she uses on her hunts. She preys on those younger than her in an attempt to become stronger. Although she hates her Immortality, she has developed a taste for power. She has nothing left to live for anymore so her desire for the Prize is all that fuels Katya on.
